nothing like a punch of sunshine on an inordinately overcast Summer's day. =]

this keen interest on Native American prints and patterns original or inspired began when i bought this Navajo belted cardigan from Ralph Lauren two years ago. it quickly became one of my most prized articles of clothing. i've collected a few other bits & pieces since and are now comfortably incorporated – as an alternative to my long-standing Liberty print obsession – in my own personal style. =]
over the years i have collected some rather fun trousers:

Go To Hell (GTH), the term coined by best-selling American author and journalist Tom Wolf, refers to items of clothing – mainly trousers and blazers – bearing whimsical patterns and/or bright colours. basically anything so bold and garish that it stands out.
as in: If you don’t like it…..GO TO HELL! (i.e."I don’t give a shit")
during the Spring & Summer months i have fly lures

lobsters

and anchors

for Autumn & Winter, out come the pheasants

reindeer

and heraldic crests

i’ve also got border terriers and foxes too:

here’s a few more "action" shots:

want to find out more about GTH style? here’s a very informative article by Christian Chensvold.
in a sea of skinny jeans and black, this is one sure-fire way to stand out. i’ll be dammed!

various guises of camouflage from the past few years:

Fendi F/W 2007

Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami Monogramouflage PreFall 2008

Polo Ralph Lauren S/S 2009

Prada F/W 2010

yup, looks like camouflage is here to stay.

Ralph Lauren embroidered corduroy flat cap, Cutler & Gross green tortoise glasses.
went to Chadstone today to buy me a little happy.
first port of call of course is Louis Vuitton. i was able to cross off a couple of things from my wish list. reveals to follow soon. =)
i also finally saw the Raindrop Besace:

no, i didn’t buy it. though i still like it very much, today just wasn’t the day for it.
also got to play with the Monogram Cheche Bohemian. Yay or Nay?

so far, it feels like a very strong contender to the Raindrop.
Ralph Lauren had a pair of chinos i just couldn’t pass. plus it was further 20% off its already reduced price.
also swung by the Prada Flagship on Collins St in the City to pick something up.
final shopping tally:

Ralph Lauren = 1, Prada = 1, Louis Vuitton = 4.
Non, rien de rien. non, je ne regrette rien……

l-r: Gucci Horsebit in black calfskin, The Original Car Shoe ‘Daino’ calfskin in cream, Gucci Horsebit in blue suede, Ralph Lauren ‘Garda’ in purple suede, The Original Car Shoe in bi colour ‘Antique Calf’, The Original Car Shoe ‘Scamosciato’ tassle in green.
i wore these all summer long. they’re extremely comfortable and light but still dressy enough to wear where thongs and sandals won’t permit. and it seems i won’t be packing these away for winter yet because of this extended warm weather we’re having at the moment.
im still working on getting a few more pairs particularly in red, yellow and orange to complete the spectrum.
more info and where to buy: Gucci, The Original Car Shoe, Ralph Lauren.

i picked up a little something from Marais a few months ago:

Alexander McQueen feather stick pin in gunmetal:

i purchased it mainly because of this bag*

i was having a little feather/avian themed obsession a while ago in anticipation of this blue printed tote from LV. sadly, it wasn’t commercialized.
my mini frenzy probably jinxed it =(
anyhoo, i still think it is a rather smart lapel pin.

(4-pocket tweed waistcoat and fox head wool necktie from Polo Ralph Lauren, white button-down shirt from Hugo BOSS Orange)

it is officially summertime here in Australia so it would have to stay under wraps for a few more months when lapels come back into the fore.
