packing for a Sydney respite tomorrow.
my Graffiti Hit List is now complete. i finally have the necktie!
i really thought i have missed out on this, but my ever able SA rang me up yesterday to tell me the good news. she even managed to get me two neckties all the way from Hong Kong. YIPEE!!!

the other one is for my dad. i originally requested for three because my brother wants one too. but two is better than none.

a skinny tie requires a smaller collar. conventional collars will be disproportionate. im quite pleased with how it looks in these photos.
here’s my Stephen Sprouse Tribute Monogram Graffiti family:

i think im pretty done for Spring 2009. i’ve got everything i set out to acquire this season and then some. must focus on Fall ’09 now. im praying to the LV gods particularly for this:
i do hope this makes the final cut and that it won’t cost a limb or two *fingers crossed*
i know some of you have been regularly checking for updates. please pardon the delay, i’ve just been too busy since i returned to Melbourne. in the next few entries, i shall be revealing a bunch of LoVelies. so hang in there
anyhooo… the wait is over! without further ado, here’s my Monogram Graffiti Keepall 50 in orange:
at long last!!!! and im just as excited about it since i blogged about the rumours back in November. it is very difficult to capture the vibrancy of the graffiti print – i swear it glows in normal light.
the colour is actually more like a radioactive orange-red than this flat tone in the photos
i also think the larger print format of the Keepall compared to the smaller font on the Speedy puts the fluoro contrast into full effect.
i don’t have any black light, but i think it still glows in dim light too:
if reason was to be heeded, one wouldn’t be inclined to get another Keepall particularly if one already owns a Keepall 50 with a strap even. but i was instantly entranced by this fluorescent vision when it emerged from its dustbag. heads turned, gasps heard…. palpitations and tremours felt…. SOLD!
one for work, the other for play.
here it is along with two other Graffiti pieces i acquired last month:
that’s 3 out of the four Sprouse Tribute Graffiti items on my hit list.
one last look…..
it is even more fantastic than i had imagined. im still very much stunned.

unless its all black or grey, i don’t normally go for the matchy-matchy head-to-toe look. but i have this linen shirt in lime green i’ve been wanting to wear all summer. its pretty much an exact match to the green of the Graffiti Pareo. now about the thongs…. Havaianas are an Australian staple. people here practically wear them all year round. yes, even during winter – me included in a handful of occasions. this one in particular has a slightly similar print with bits of colour that coordinate as well.
today we’re going to check out the Charles Darwin Exhibit on display at the National Museum of Australia here in Canberra. its a lovely summer’s day with a "mild" 25*C. no rain forecast, so the chance of me getting struck by lightning wearing too much neon is minimal. =P
so do i dare? what the heck… YES!
originally meant to be a wrap or a sarong, the Monogram Graffiti Pareo is fast becoming a very popular scarf instead. and i sure am going to wear it as a scarf. made of finely woven cotton, its actually very light and soft. it has the perfect weight for trans seasonal or temperate weather.
it has that same look as the very popular Leopard or Monogramouflage Stoles, but slightly shorter and less prone to snags. but at around 6ft long, there’s enough material to wrap around my neck twice so it won’t be purely ornamental during a sudden cold snap.
i like how the tag is also green to match. nice touch.

it is cotton so it will crease when in use. but if you hang it out for a while, the creases practically disappear. i don’t see the need to iron this each time at all. nor would i even think of sending it to the cleaners. hand wash with cold water should suffice.
the street-inspired print primarily dictates a more casual attire:
strangely just a few months ago i bought a bunch of Lacoste polo shirts in the brightest, almost neon colours – which is uncharacteristic of me. back then i just felt like i needed that punch (or assault even) of colour into my wardrobe. now i know why. the one above is a very brilliant orange-red by the way. im sure you think i’ll be a walking traffic hazard, but pairing them with a denim jacket and smart chinos will reign these colours in.
but the good thing i’ve discovered is that it also works pretty well neutrals or more sombre palettes like browns, greys and greens.
im amazed how it even works with different prints and patterns such as Prince of Wales check and florals. as long as they are within the warm earthy colour range.
it works for me!
wouldn’t it be wonderful if they made these in other colours like blue, black or white too? im very pleased with it and i highly recommend it to anyone who’s interested.
so guys (you know who you are), go get yours quick before they run out.
here’s a sneak peek of what is purported to be the sneakers Kanye West has designed in collaboration with Louis Vuitton:
scheduled to be released mid 2009, im quite pleased (even relieved) that the shoes are rather understated. the complete opposite to its designer. i was thinking clashing patterns and maybe even LED lights that flash to the beat of Daft Punk. *WHEW!* but i was right about one thing, its a high-top. here a video of him talking to paparazzi:
from TMZ
looks promising, i might even consider them. as long as his name (or ego) doesn’t dictate the price.
related entry: in his footsteps
oh and here’s another photo of the LV SoHo boutique:
lookin’ good. i actually want that Rose in neon lights on the window.
