twitpics: bowled over

these are some that caught my eye today:

artisanal bowls from BottegaVIGNOLI, Italy. i have my eye on the painted sardines.

vibrant hand painted ones from Turkey where no two are exactly the same. these would be great ice cream bowls.

im also thinking of this "With Love" centre piece bowl by Vera Wang for Wedgwood to give as a wedding present.

yes, i have a slight bowl obsession.

hunting & gathering

my 2009 Christmas shopping is now complete.

hunting & gathering can be such a challenge for me, particularly when i am shopping for other people. what i do look forward to is wrapping them all up. i believe that presentation plays a major role in gift giving too. and every year i do make a point never to repeat a look or theme.

i am very pleased with this year’s packaging:

last year it was
poptastic yellow fluoro, this time i’ve gone for matte silver paper, mini gold tinsel and coral red gift tags

i particularly love these retro style bauble shaped tags. reminds me of gift wrappers back when i was little.

im relieved and happy to get these all done a week before the big day. this saves me from braving the mad throng for last-minute gift shopping. but now im almost flat-out broke and i blame the Magi for it. grrrr…

nah, it’s all good. for chrissakes, it’s Christmas!

decorated

this arrived a few weeks ago and i just finally got around to taking photos:

the now famous (and hugely generous)
bagaholicboy spotted this set of vintage medals from an online shop and asked if i’d be interested.

yes please! i’d be happy to have any of the four, if not all :-P

but the blue Maltese Cross is my first choice:

i’ve been wearing it practically nonstop since it arrived from Singapore. here’s how i wore mine last weekend:

it’s my new favourite small accessory.

many thanks once again BB!

Mr Ford’s last vestige

swung by Gucci last weekend to check out whatever’s left on their sale racks. it was the last day of their month-long sale season and i thought i might pick something up when they’re practically giving the last few pieces away for a song. well relatively anyway. there were still some handbags, wallets and keychains to be had. but nothing really jumped out at me except for this little thing:

"posacenere da tasca"

i can use it as a pillbox to contain my daily supplements. but i’ll most likey be using it as its intended.

yes, yes, yes… heard it all before. so let’s not go there.

this is possibly the last sign of the Texan’s decade long tenure at Gucci. gone are the days of sex and vices.

i’ve got my last little souvenir.

are you recession proof…

or just in denial?

here’s something that might cheer you up:

yep, its $100 worth of non-legal-tenderable bits US$ bills to spread some mirth around.

£9.99 at the Saatchi Gallery Shop.

but if you’ve seriously got money burning holes in your pockets, how about this to cuddle up to:

its the Dollar Teddy Bear by Johnny Swing. made of actual legal-tender US$ bills, it costs heaps more than the amount of money its made up of.

yours for US$1250 at Vivre.
